What Illness Can Teach Us

Amen! Well said – I’ve been on the couch for three days straight with a sever throat infection. At first I was so angry at being sick, so frustrated that I wasn’t at work. Somewhere in the middle of my down time though, I surrendered and realized that perhaps the life I was so desperately longing to return to, was the very one that caused my sickness. And so, as I likely head back to work tomorrow and resume life as “norm,” I return with a heightened sense of appreciation for my health and well being. I’m also reminded to slow down and be ok with saying no to people. And so I look back with thanks for these few days of misery, but also of stillness.

PS – hope your thumb is feeling better!

You totally got it. Oftentimes we bemoan our circumstances only to later realize (hopefully) that we are the very authors of our lives. Congratulations on your powerful revelation. Simply wonderful!!
