Where did the time go?

Yesterday my sister and I spent eight hours out and about. Because we turned the clocks back an hour, the day had a non-rushed feel to it. We worked out at the gym, had lunch at our favorite pizza haunt, went to the movies and shopped. Although we were on the town all day, we never once felt rushed, stressed or overwhelmed. We lived in flow, allowing our time together to be balanced, joyful and amazing.

At the end of the day, after laughing our heads off at her neighbor’s house about nothing really (there was a dart gun and a few stray Halloween decorations involved), we slipped into a delightful, dreamless sleep, knowing we had lived the slow in the most powerful way.

Slow means to be mindful. We can be enriched by the simple things in life that remind us what is truly important: connection with each other on this fabulous road to discovery. In the process, what you find is your truest self.

I have only had experiences like this on vacation. I’m excited to read your book (it arrived via Amazon on Sat) to learn to create this in my life now…here…in my workaday life. Whew, I can only imagine! Blessings, Olivia

    Hi, Christine,

I’ve just picked up your book, and I admit I haven’t started it yet, but your topic is one that concerns me very much. As an “almost” librarian (I graduate with my M.S. next month!) I’m an information professional. But there’s much worry in the field about what to do with the vast quantity of info that’s out there, how to save what’s worth it as well as being able to change the method of storage as technology becomes obsolete.

And information overload… I’m in its grip, and am going on retreat later this month, partly to think about how I can control it, detach from what I don’t really need and organize what I do.

I would love to interview you for my blogs, once I get into your book. Would that be possible? You may contact me at the email above.

    Thanks for your time!

Yes, being mindful is what Caitlyn and I did today on our trail ride…mindful of the crisp fall sky, the falling leaves, the horses carefully picking their way up and down the mountain, making new friends, and grateful for the pace of one hoof ahead of the other. See you tomorrow at the New Dominion Bookshop!
