Desiderata Days ~ Beauty
The sign read: “Life can be beautiful.” Etched in pinewood, the sign hung over my grandmother’s kitchen sink for years. She would point to it with a sudsy finger and say “Life can be beautiful. It’s not always so. But it can be…” then a haze of reverie would mask her eyes for a moment ~ the remembering of days when life was not full of Downy-dowsed towels and shimmering gold.
Today marks the end of our Desiderata Days as we look at one last bit of Max Ehrmann’s wisdom.
Max Ehrmann says:
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
Take heed of his wisdom, in all its beauty. There may be days of sham and drudgery, but remember there is power in slow. For without rain there can be no rainbows. Without the journey there can be no destination. Without an ending there is no beginning.
Be well, my Desiderata Day friends! Thank you for taking this journey with me!
