The Daily Stretch ~ Day #14 “From Business to Books”
Have you ever wanted to write a book? You’re not alone. Ray Clements has spent the last thirty years balancing his corporate success with his summer love of writing and doing what he calls “tempering capitalism with peace, love and harmony.” In the early 1970s he graduated with a major in Business Administration and a concentration in Philosophy/Religious Studies. Since that day, he had waited patiently for someone else to write the definitive book regarding the dilemma between racing to the bottom line and harmonizing with the world around us. But no one did.
“So I wrote and self published the novel, Zor. I wrote this book to impact peoples’ lives. I am continually amazed at the number of readers who contact me directly, with gratitude, for writing this book. Learning how to write, format, publish, and market a novel is an arduous task, but the positive response to Zor, has been greater than I could ever imagine, and well worth the effort.”
As a former self-published author myself, I understand Ray’s desire to change the world through words any way you can. He stood up and stretched, reaching out to readers who reached back.
There’s nothing like the feeling when a reader says “You made a difference.” It’s the greatest verbal embrace!
