Wednesday Wait a Minute Part 2
Okay, so the mid-week holiday through me for a loop, landing my Wednesday post on a Thursday. You will forgive, I hope. Time. It’s my friend. And sometimes we get carried away.
And now, ladies and gentleman. The moment you’ve all been waiting for. Your Wednesday Wait a Minute video about the myth of multitasking. Take it away!

November 7, 2011 at 10:41 amHaha, brilliant. Love the video Christine.
On a serious note though, it’s amazing how unproductive modern workplaces are. There are distractions nearly all the time.

November 7, 2011 at 10:53 amThank you! Yes, I prefer to work from home. I really do get a lot done. All that phone ringing and office gossip. Don’t know how folks get a thing done. Of course, I’ve always been the type to study in absolute silence. Never could cram for exams while listening to music! 🙂

November 7, 2011 at 11:06 amI’m the same. I manage far more writing when I’m at home than I do at the office with all the noise and chatter going on. I’m inclined to think a fundamental shift needs to happen in how offices are designed.
Remember reading some research a while back saying that we come up with ideas best when on our own, but those ideas are developed best when doing so with others. I covered it in a bit more depth over at RapidBi (http://rapidbi.com/management/a-time-and-a-place-for-the-brainstorm/) but the modern office really doesn’t provide you with that ‘cave’ to create great ideas in the first place.
