Waiting for the Wise

Waiting is something I have blogged about in the past. My wise friend, Lissa Coffey, talks about the act of waiting in the most powerful way. In today’s Wisdom News newsletter she writes:

“There is a difference between the waiting of the prophet and the standing still of the fool.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)

This is an issue we all struggle with at one time or another.  It can be difficult to wait, it can be difficult to be patient.  And yet, it is so often necessary!  Everything has its own time, its own season, and more often than not we are the ones who have to adjust to fit in with the grand plan.  But waiting doesn’t have to mean standing still, or wasting time.  We can use our time wisely, even when we are waiting.
 -Lissa Coffey

So many of us think the destination is the goal. In fact, the process is as much of the package as the goal itself. My sister once wisely told me to “trust the process.” It’s a huge lesson that, once learned, makes every day a day of surprise and discovery!
